South Bend, IN. – On September 7th, at 4:52 p.m., South Bend International Airport (SBN) will welcome and commemorate a second daily United Airlines flight from New York/Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) with a water cannon salute.
Media must arrive promptly at 4:00 p.m. and report to Airport Information, located across from the United ticket counter near baggage claim, to be escorted onto the ramp. Late arrivals will not be accommodated.
“Additional air service is always worth celebrating,” said SBN Executive Director, Mike Daigle. “Being a passenger on a flight with a water cannon salute is a special and memorable experience. We thank everyone who chooses to fly South Bend.”
The twice daily flights will continue until December 15th, 2016; where United will depart EWR at approximately 2:45 p.m. to arrive at SBN at 4:52 p.m., and then depart from SBN at 5:25 p.m. to arrive in EWR at approximately 7:20 p.m. After December 15th, daily services remain with flights departing SBN at approximately 6:35 a.m. and returning nightly at approximately 10:15 p.m.
