South Bend Chocolate Company To Be Awarded South Bend International Airport’s Partner Of The Year

South Bend, IN. – The Saint Joseph County Airport Authority Board of Directors will present Mark Tarner, owner and operator of South Bend Chocolate Company (SBCC), with a Partner of the Year award at its board meeting on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. in the board room at South Bend International Airport (SBN).

The Partner of the Year award is bestowed to a business partner that demonstrates outstanding commitment to customers and making South Bend International Airport a better place.

Tarner and his team continue to innovate to create a memorable experience for travelers at SBN. The offerings in the Bar Fly, South Bend Chocolate Café, Studebagels, Pop Shop and gift shop offer travelers a taste of South Bend with a focus on local food, beverages and gifts.

SBCC employees leave positive impressions on airport travelers and visitors. Since taking over concession operations in June 2014, sales have steadily climbed with gross concession sales increasing nearly 22% in 2015.

“The fantastic attention to detail and quality of service that Mark and the entire South Bend Chocolate Company team has extended to our traveling public has been phenomenal and deserves recognition,” said Mike Daigle, SBN Executive Director. “We take careful consideration in choosing to grant this award.”

The award was last presented in 2012 to Republic Parking.
