MAINTENANCE WORKER - ELECTRICIAN

South Bend International Airport is seeking a motivated individual for the position of Maintenance Worker, with previous experience as an Electrician, to join our Maintenance Department!

This position performs a variety of tasks including but not limited to; Maintenance, repairs, alterations and modifications of buildings, equipment and systems, roadways, grounds maintenance, and snow removal using a variety of equipment.  Mechanical, electrical and/or heavy equipment operation as well as building maintenance.  Drywall, painting or pavement repair. Continually support and encourage the Authority’s Mission, Vision and Values Statements.

Requirements for this position include a high school diploma or equivalent with emphasis on technical or shop courses such as electrical, woodworking, mechanics, metal shop and networking.  Availability to work a full-time position that may involve changing shifts, weekends and holidays as necessary.  A valid driver’s license. The ability to pass criminal history and up to 10-year employment and background checks is required.

Maintenance Worker with electrical experience and/or certification will focus on:

  • Providing back up to the Lighting Specialist.
  • Maintaining and repair all terminal/concourse/outbuilding electrical systems/ components/switchgear/lighting on the airport property as required.
  • Estimating and Install new electrical systems/components/switchgear and materials.
  • Understanding switchgear cabling layout within the airport buildings and property.

Approved hourly pay rate, $19.46 plus $9.36 if a state certified Electrician and/or Journeyman.  Rates reflect and are subject to the current collective bargaining agreement. The full job description can be viewed by clicking here.

INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS CENTER AGENT - PART TIME

St. Joseph County Airport Authority (SJCAA) in South Bend, IN is seeking an enthusiastic, forward thinking individual for the position of, Information and Communications Center Agent (CCA).  This position is primarily responsible for supporting the Airport Authority’s mission, vision and values.

This position promotes the safety and security of airport users by monitoring scanner radios for Airport, Mutual Aid and FAA frequencies. Acts as liaison among parties operating on different frequencies and will dispatch appropriate personnel to events on airport property when necessary.  The position also monitors closed-circuit television screens for surveillance and safety purposes on an ongoing basis. In addition, position processes applications for airport-issued identification badges, creates the badges, maintains accurate records and ensures the compliance of those records. A CCA provides information and communicates with all departments and tenants at SBN and is ultimately known as a, Dedicated Customer Care Specialist for the traveling public!

High School diploma or equivalent. Specialized training in computer software helpful. Degree in Aviation Management, Criminal Justice, or Aviation Management helpful. Six months to one year customer service experience requiring public contact, answering multi-line telephone equipment, two-way radio and use of general office equipment such as computers, fax machine and copier. Experience in a communications center or a security background is preferred. Maintain valid Driver’s License

Weekends, holidays and shift work required.
