South Bend 150 Torch Run to Commence at South Bend International Airport

South Bend International Airport (SBN) is proud to be the commencement site of the South Bend 150 Torch Run. The torch will be lit during a ceremony taking place on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., prior to the start of the Torch Run beginning in the employee parking lot at the West end of the airport.

Residents from Zone 1 will then carry the flame on the nearly one mile route that encompasses a runway and taxiway in a relay-style run.

“We are honored to be chosen as the commencement location of this historic city-wide activity,” said Mike Daigle, Executive Director at SBN. “South Bend International Airport connects South Bend to the world at large. We are proud of the part the airport has played in South Bend’s growth and we look forward to the next 150 years.”

The flame will be carried throughout the City’s 20 zones on May 2nd and 3rd. For additional information, visit www.sb150.com.
