South Bend, IN – The South Bend International Airport (SBN), owned and operated by the St. Joseph County Airport Authority is requesting proposals from qualified individuals to conduct certain farming activities on property owned by the Authority. Land parcels range in size from six to 188 acres. Crop recommendations vary by parcel to include mint, alfalfa, any less than three feet tall, and some parcels do not have crop restrictions.

“We already have farmers utilizing parcels for farming,” said Authority properties manager Kerianne Linn. “These additional opportunities are important as they will improve our wildlife habitat management program and reduce costs incurred by the Authority.”
If a proposal is accepted by the Authority, the successful proposer will enter into one or several lease agreements with SJCAA and conduct farming activities according to the standards set out.
