Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for New General Aviation Public Ramp at South Bend International Airport

South Bend, IN. The completion of the new general aviation public ramp will be celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Local officials, including South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg and St. Joseph County Airport Authority Board of Directors President Abe Marcus, will speak at the event.

The $1.5 million public ramp project on the airport’s north side was funded through a partnership between the City of South Bend and South Bend International Airport (SBN). As of today, this partnership has resulted in the creation of 14 jobs at the airport’s newest fixed base operator, Corporate Wings. Additional economic impact was generated as the construction was completed locally by Rieth-Riley Construction Company.

“The Airport Authority Board is excited that the City of South Bend and Redevelopment Commission worked to bring additional jobs to our region,” said Abe Marcus, St. Joseph County Airport Authority Board President. “We would like to also thank the contractors from Rieth-Riley and engineers from Mead & Hunt who executed the completion of this project.”

A ribbon will be suspended between the noses of two general aviation jets for officials to cut.
