South Bend International Airport Reports Increased Passengers in 2015

South Bend, IN. South Bend International Airport (SBN) is pleased to report increased passenger numbers in 2015. Year-end reports show that enplanements grew 4.11% to 314,300. Enplanements are the aviation industry’s measure used to count the number of people getting on a commercial aircraft at the departure airport.

Each carrier experienced growth at SBN. Delta carried 142,483 enplaned passengers for a 6.44% increase; United carried 67,197 for a 1.42% increase; Allegiant carried 97,663 for a 1.07% increase; and charters increased 35.59% carrying 6957 enplaned passengers.

It is because of their choice that SBN has grown,” said Mike Daigle, South Bend International Airport executive director. “We look forward to building on this momentum in 2016 as more and more travelers see the value and convenience of flying local from South Bend.”
