South Bend International Airport to Deliver 2600 Teddy Bears to Children in Five Area Hospitals

South Bend International Airport’s (SBN) twelfth annual Bears in the Air program is providing more than 2600 teddy bears to children in five area hospitals. The bears will be delivered by SBN’s CEO & Executive Director Mike Daigle and SBN team members December 20 and 21 to Beacon Children’s Hospital, Saint Joseph Mishawaka & Plymouth Medical Centers, Elkhart General Hospital, and Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital.

The bears will offer companionship and smiles during a child’s difficult time. Each hospital will distribute the bears throughout the year to young patients.

“We are tremendously thankful for the community’s continued support of the Bears in the Air program,” said SBN’s CEO and Executive Director Mike Daigle. “The level of support this program receives each year continues to impress and inspire me. We live in a very giving community, and this is just one thing we can do to help make it better for children in our hospitals.”

The Bears in the Air program has now provided nearly 20,000 teddy bears to children in area hospitals since the program’s inception.

Additionally, a cash donation to the Robert L. Miller, Sr. Veteran’s Center will take place in January.
