South Bend International Airport Welcomes Second Daily Flight to New York/Newark Beginning September 7th

South Bend, IN.  South Bend International Airport (SBN) announces the addition of a second daily United Airlines flight to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).  This additional daily frequency will fly September 7th thru December 15th.  Daily flights from EWR will depart at approximately 2:45 p.m., arriving at SBN at 5:00 p.m.  The flight from SBN will depart at approximately 5:20 p.m., arriving in EWR at 7:20 p.m.

ExpressJet will operate the flights using ERJ-145 regional jet aircraft with 50 United Economy seats.  Tickets are on-sale now and available for purchase at www.united.com.

“I’ve said it over and over; a community receives the air service it supports. This is a prime example of that statement”, said SBN Executive Director Mike Daigle.  “We’re thrilled to make this announcement and thank all of you for continued support.”

Our second daily service between South Bend and New York/Newark offers numerous opportunities for domestic and international travel,” said United’s Sales Manager Kimberly Egan.

United Express began nonstop service to EWR from SBN in October 2014.  The daily flights depart SBN at approximately 6:35 a.m. and return nightly at approximately 10:15 p.m.

AirTrain Newark provides quick and easy connections to and from NJ TRANSIT, PATH, and Amtrak through Newark Liberty International Airport Station.  Travel times to popular New York City destinations are 30 minutes via NJ TRANSIT to New York Penn Station and 40 minutes via PATH/NJ TRANSIT to World Trade Center.  Philadelphia is 70 minutes via Amtrak.
