The St. Joseph County Airport Authority (SJCAA), as owner and operator of the South Bend International Airport (SBN), will be holding a public Open House on November 9, 2021, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the upstairs Atrium east of the Delta ticket counter (accessible via elevator) of the airport’s commercial terminal building located at 4477 Progress Drive, South Bend, IN, 46628.
The Open House will be the second and final opportunity for the public to learn about the airport’s ongoing Master Plan Study and examine the progress of the study to date. An opportunity will also be available for the public to provide comments concerning the project and the airport’s future direction. There is no formal presentation planned, so attendees may arrive any time during the window of time noted. Attendees will be able to view presentation materials at their own pace and ask questions of the Airport Authority staff and consultants.
In accordance with Transportation Security Administration decrees, participants will be required to wear masks while in the terminal building.
The Open House will provide information on the following topics:
- Overview of SBN’s master plan study and purpose
- Forecasts of future aviation activity at SBN
- Future facility needs at SBN
- Preferred improvement options under consideration
The focus of the Open House will be the preferred improvement options under consideration.
Comments and suggestions received during the Open House are to be evaluated by the project team and incorporated into the study as appropriate. The proposed improvements are intended to achieve compliance with Federal Aviation Administration regulations and to meet the existing and projected aviation needs of the region.
